Faculty

The Department of Health Professions Education (HPE) has a group of local, full-time faculty with diverse expertise. Faculty are comprised of leaders, clinician-educators and PhD researchers who hold significant HPE leadership positions. With their areas of expertise, the faculty lead and support the efforts of HPE and some have more focused responsibility in the Distance Learning Lab (DL-Lab), or the Long Term Career Outcome Study (LTCOS). HPE faculty continue to be recognized for their excellence in research, teaching, and mentorship, winning awards including the  Alpha Omega Alpha Robert J. Glaser Distinguished Teacher Award and Merrell Flair Award given by the Association of American Medical Colleges, the Association of Directors of Medical Student Education in Psychiatry Scholarly Publishing Award, and the Dutch Association for Medical Education Article Impact Award. HPE is also supported by an important team of program administration specialists, managers, research associates, and analysts. Among other responsibilities they support student admissions, course enrollment, degree progress, research projects, admissions, and alumni affairs.
