Stress and Health Lab

The Stress and Health Lab at USU is led by Dr. Lisa Shank, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medical and Clinical Psychology. The lab broadly studies the relationship between stress and health across the lifespan in both military-affiliated and civilian populations.

Research Focus

Particular areas of interest include:

  • Posttraumatic stress disorder
  • Disordered eating and weight
  • Cardiometabolic health
  • Brief interventions to reduce stress and improve psychological and physical outcomes

Active areas of investigation include examining these relationships in populations such as military veterans, pregnant women, and women experiencing infertility.
