STUDENT COUNSELING CENTER

The Uniformed Services University Student Counseling Center (SCC) provides confidential evidence-based counseling services and behavioral health outreach programs to support all USU students. Our services aim to facilitate academic, professional, and personal development in order to enhance the readiness, resiliency, and well-being of the USU community. 

The USU Student Counseling Center services are only available for students enrolled at USU.  If you are a non-student beneficiary seeking counseling services, please contact the David E. Cabrera University Family Health Center to schedule an appointment with your Primary Care Provider, schedule an appointment with the Behavioral Health Clinic at your nearby military treatment facility, or reach out to one of the mental health resources listed at the bottom of this page.   

SERVICES WE OFFER

Services are all confidential.  Appointments can be in-person or through telehealth. 

Behavioral health problems commonly treated by the SCC staff include:

  • Stress Management
  • Study Skills / Time Management
  • Relationship Distress
  • Test Anxiety
  • Anxiety
  • Depression

SCHEDULING APPOINTMENTS

New Users:  We use a patient portal called "InSync" for scheduling to maintain privacy while ensuring easy access to care.   Use the links below to register for the InSync Portal, and to access instructions on how to request appointments using the portal. 

After scheduling your appointment in the portal you will receive an email with instructions on how to start your virtual appointment. 

Registered Users: For students with an existing account, you can login to manage your appointments in the USUHS InSync Login page at https://usuhs.insynchcs.com/

Troubleshooting:  If you need to reset your password, are having difficulties with registering or with appointments, reach out to us at usucounselingcenter@usuhs.edu. If you need to schedule with a specific provider outside of available appointment times, reach out to them directly at their usuhs.edu email.

Dr. Nathan Keller

Dr. Nathan Keller is a retired Army Social Work Officer. He provides individual and couples counseling for USU students.

George Mesias

George Mesias is an active-duty US Army Social Work Officer. He provides individual and couples counseling for USU students.

Dr. Sherin Venable

Dr. Sherin Venable is a civilian Psychologist. She provides individual counseling for USU students.

Dr. Jeffrey Goodie

Dr. Jeffrey Goodie is a retired USPHS Psychologist. He provides individual and couples counseling for USU students.

LOCATION

Office 1034A within the USUHS Family Health Center footprint.  After entering the clinic front door, we are located in the small corridor to the left before entering the clinic's waiting room.
