Dr. David McLeod was a visionary leader in the field of urology, having pioneered a new era in prostate cancer research. He accomplished this by integrating molecular biology with clinical research during a critical period of intense focus and debate surrounding optimal treatment for prostate cancer. As a highly decorated military surgeon, he served with distinction in the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Army.

Prior to Dr. McLeod’s tenure at the Center for Prostate Disease Research, Dr. McLeod held several prominent positions, including Program Director in Urology and Chief of Urologic Oncology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He also served as a Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and as a Clinical Professor in the Department of Surgery (Urology) at Georgetown University Medical Center..

Dr. McLeod has an extensive list of publications in major medical journals, including Urology, the Journal of Urology, the Journal of Urologic Oncology, and the Journal of Cancer. His significant contributions to the field include co-authoring numerous chapters and research papers on urologic oncology. Dr. McLeod leaves a lasting legacy through his scientific research and the education of countless students.
