Biography
Maj (Dr.) Thomas Beachkofsky is a board-certified dermatologist through the American Board of Dermatology. He is a native of Brazil, Indiana and is currently serving on active duty in the U.S. Air Force and is stationed at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, FL.He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO where he majored in biology. He earned his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University, F. Edward Hébert School of Medicine in Bethesda, MD and was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.
He completed a one-year transitional internship at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium (San Antonio, TX), earning accolades as the Distinguished Graduate from his training program and was further distinguished as the organizations top overall performing intern earning the Maj John H. Gillespie Award. He then served as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force in South Korea, earning accolades as the Pacific Air Forces Flight Surgeon of the Year prior to his return to San Antonio, TX where he completed his dermatology residency at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium .
Following residency training, he stayed on as teaching faculty within his residency program and went on to supervise the inpatient dermatology service, cosmetic and laser surgery clinic and ran his own research lab. He currently holds an academic appointment as Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Uniformed Services University.
Dr. Beachkofsky’s clinical interests include medical, surgical, laser as well as pediatric dermatology. Additionally he is active in multiple areas of clinical research to include adverse drug/vaccine reactions, teledermatology and the cutaneous microbiome.
