Biography

Dr. Witter earned a PhD in Clinical and Community Psychology from The George Washington University in 1986. She has worked as a clinician with children, adolescents and adults with severe psychological disorders in both public and private settings. She has taught in clinical psychology doctoral programs at several area universities including American U, Argosy, the Chicago School, and USUHS. Dr Witter has been a member of the core faculty at USUHS since 2010, teaching several clinical courses including Ethics, Brief Dynamic psychotherapy, Cultural Diversity, Trauma in The Military Context and Foundations of Psychotherapy. She also serves as the Coordinator of Practicum Placement for the Department. In addition, Dr Witter has a private practice focused on Individual Therapy with adults from a psychodynamic theoretical orientation. She is licensed in Maryland and the District of Columbia.
