Biography

Dr. Vipler grew up in upstate New York before moving to south Florida for his undergraduate education. At the University of Miami, Dr. Vipler studied biology, with minors in music and chemistry, and graduated cum laude. He went on to pursue his medical education at the University Of Miami Miller School Of Medicine. Dr. Vipler matched to internal medicine internship training at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, part of the National Capital Consortium. He was selected for continued residency training and graduated in 2015. Dr. Vipler received the great honor of serving as Chief of Internal Medicine Residents at Walter Reed for the 2015-2016 academic year. Dr. Vipler’s first staff tour after chief year was as internal medicine residency core faculty at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth in Virginia where he served as Clinical Competency Committee Chair, Inpatient and Outpatient Medicine Rotation Director, and Undergraduate Medical Education Clerkship Director. Dr. Vipler is board certified in internal medicine and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He has received certification in combat casualty care and the medical management of chemical and biological casualties, and has completed the Stanford Faculty Development Program. Dr. Vipler has presented workshops at multiple national meetings including the ACGME Annual Educational Conference and the APDIM Chief Residents Meeting. He has held a faculty appointment at the Uniformed Services University since 2013 and currently holds the rank of Assistant Professor of Medicine. Personal military decorations include two joint service commendation medals.
