Biography

I joined the Army after a year as a contract pediatrician and was stationed at Ft Richardson, Anchorage, AK. After a 6 year tour, I entered a two year fellowship program in Developmental Pediatrics at Madigan Army Medical Center. I was then sent to the Pentagon to coordinate the Army/DoD response to public laws addressing services for children birth to 3 yrs of age. I set up the Army overseas Early Intervention Programs and coordinated with sister services to create the Exceptional Family Member Program, a screening program for physical and mental disabilities and special education requirements for family members going overseas. Upon retirement, I came to USU Department of Pediatrics and began a teaching career that has, over the past 5 years, focused on providing research opportunities for 4th year students.
