Biography

LCDR Albert Lee is currently serving as deputy senior medical officer at Navy Special Warfare Group EIGHT, Hawaii. He commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Navy in 2012. At sea, Lee served on USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) in Yokosuka, Japan as the medical department division officer and physical therapist. During his tour he completed six deployments to the Western Pacific. Under his leadership the medical department was awarded its eighth Blue “M” award. As the command’s Health Promotions Coordinator, the command received its first Gold Star Navy Surgeon General’s Health Promotion and Wellness Blue “H” award. He led the medical department’s 3M maintenance program which was integral to the ship’s life expectancy and operational capability, contributing towards the command’s 2018 Purple “E” maintenance award.

At Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Lee worked in both inpatient acute and outpatient orthopedic settings. He had the honor to work with wounded Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom veterans with a range of diagnoses to include traumatic brain injury, limb salvage and amputations. While stationed in Bethesda, Lee was appointed as adjunct faculty at the Uniformed Services of the Health Sciences where he instructed medical students. Following sea duty, he reported to Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Pearl Harbor (NMRTC-PH). He was selected as the medical team lead for the Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam Emergency Operation Center during the COVID-19 pandemic achieving zero on base transmissions during his tenure and minimal operational impact to Navy and Air Force operational units. Lee was appointed as interim Director for Clinical Support Services and oversaw the clinical operations for Radiology, Laboratory, Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation and pharmacy departments for NMRTC-PH.

Lee was selected into the inaugural cohort of the Military Musculoskeletal Physical Therapy Residency program and achieved his Orthopedic Board Certification in 2015 through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties.

His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Junior Navy Physical Therapist of the Year 2018, and WRNMMC Junior Officer of the Quarter in 2015.
