Biography

Dr. Anne Wildermuth is the Assistant Dean for Admissions and Recruitment in the Uniformed Services University (USU) School of Medicine and an assistant professor in health professions education. She is also a clinically practicing emergency medicine physician assistant (PA) and a registered dietitian (RD). She completed her PhD in Biomedicine from Salus University, and her dissertation focused on admissions interviews as performance predictors in medical education. Prior to joining USU, Dr. Wildermuth served in multiple medical education leadership roles, including as the Associate Program Director at the George Washington University PA Program and University of Nebraska Medical Center PA Program. She has considerable experience working in military PA education, having been the Department of Defense (DOD) Project Lead and Civilian Liaison to the US Military's Interservice PA Program at Joint Base San Antonio and the Canadian Armed Forces PA Program Civilian Liaison. She advises medical and graduate learners in the Center for Health Professions Educations (C-HPE) programs and teaches C-HPE courses in leadership, assessment, and clinical teaching. Research interests include admissions, equity, leadership, student and faculty retention, and various emergency medicine and nutrition topics. She is actively involved in the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Physician Assistant Education Association and serves as a reviewer for several medical education journals and conferences.
