Biography
Colonel Ashley M. Maranich, MD, MHPE, FAAP, FIDSA has served as the Assistant Dean for Clinical Sciences and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD since 2019. Prior to this role, Dr. Maranich held residency leadership positions as the Transitional Year Program Director at the San Antonio Military Medical Center and Pediatric Residency Program Director at Tripler Army Medical Center Director.She has been stationed at all four of the Army Pediatric training sites with deployments as a Battalion Surgeon in Iraq, on board the USNS Millinocket as a part of Pacific Partnership 2016, and as a member of a recovery team in Vietnam with the Defense Personnel Accounting Agency.
Dr. Maranich maintains a clinical practice as a pediatric infectious disease consultant, serving as a faculty member for the Walter Reed Pediatric Residency and Pediatric Infectious Disease Fellowship with presentations and publications reflecting her interest in tropical and travel medicine as well as medical education across both UME and GME. She holds a number of national leadership roles to include serving on the Executive Council for the AAP's Section on Uniformed Services, President-Elect of the Association for Hospital Medical Education, Chair of the ACGME's Transitional Year Review Committee, member of Make-a-Wish America's National Medical Advisory Council, and the military representative to the AAMC Careers in Medicine Advisory Committee.
