Biography

Dr. Rakhilin is an image processing scientist as part of the Biomedical Research Imaging Core (BRIC) in the Department of Radiology and Radiological Sciences at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS). Dr. Rakhilin received his Ph.D. from Cornell with his research focusing on in vivo imaging of the enteric nervous system. Afterwards, he has focused more on image processing by completing his post-doc at Pfizer department of Global Pathology and later transferring to the Pfizer department of Early Clinical Development to do machine learning research. He has worked at Genentech before returning to academia and joining the team at the USUHS BRIC core.

Dr. Rakhilin focuses on preclinical and clinical image processing, helping develop new methods for investigators to analyze their data. He incorporates his background in biology, engineering, and programming to help collaborators push the field of medical imaging further.
