Biography
Lt Col David Sayers is an active duty U.S. Air Force physician who has served in the military for 17 years. He is currently the Program Director for the General Preventive Medicine (GPM) residency and Assistant Professor within the Department of Preventive Medicine and Biostatistics at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU). Lt Col Sayers completed his undergraduate degree from Hillsdale College and medical degree at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. He completed his first residency in Pediatrics at Wright Patterson AFB and Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. During the next 6 years, Dr. Sayers completed 2 Air Force pediatric tours in England and Colorado. Additionally, he deployed to the Dominican Republic during this time to support Operation New Horizons. After completing a Master of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene degree and second residency in General Preventive Medicine at USU, Lt Col Sayers served as Chief, Preventive Medicine for the Air Force Medical Command Agency prior to returning to USU. Lt Col Sayers is dual boarded in both Pediatrics and General Preventive Medicine. He has published 17 peer-reviewed manuscripts. His research interests focus on population health, infectious diseases, and immunizations.Representative Bibliography
