Biography

LTC Bethany Landeck is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Preventive Medicine and Biostatistics, Division of Health Services Administration at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU), Bethesda, MD. LTC Landeck is an active-duty 70H (Plans, Operations, Security, Intelligence, and Training) for the U.S. Army and currently serves as the Senior Strategic Medical Planner for the U.S. Department of State.

LTC Landeck’s assignments reflect progressive leadership experience across tactical, operational, and strategic-level organizations. She has served in key command and staff positions in medical and sustainment organizations, including battalion command in the U.S. Army Medical Command, company command of a Role 2; executive officer of a Role 3; medical plans and operations of a medical brigade; and future operations planner of a corps headquarters. Her experience also includes assignments with Office of The Surgeon General, the 65th Medical Brigade in Korea, and the American Red Cross National Headquarters. Collectively, her career reflects broad expertise in command, medical operations, sustainment, strategic planning, and organizational leadership. LTC Landeck also has a secondary military occupational specialty as a 90A, Logistics Officer.

LTC Landeck’s military education includes the Army Medical Department Officer Basic Course, Combined Logistics Captain’s Career Course, Army Command and General Staff Officers’ College, and the Advanced Military Studies Program. She earned a master’s degree in military art and science from the School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS).

LTC Landeck’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (5 Awards), Army Commendation Medal (4 Awards), Army Achievement Medal (2 Awards), National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and NATO Medal. Her military badges include the Combat Action Badge.
