Biography

Colonel Linda Jones is an active duty Air Force physician who has served in various capacities for 23 years. She currently serves as Director of the Global Health Graduate Certificate Program at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU). She completed her undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech in 2003, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then completed medical school at USU in 2007 and went on to complete a pediatrics residency at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium. She served as the sole pediatrician at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, from 2010–2012, where she managed complicated cases requiring foreign national cooperation and urgent aeromedical evacuation. Following her time in Turkey, she served as Medical Director of one of the largest overseas pediatric clinics at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, from 2012–2016. After her overseas tours, she returned to CONUS to serve as Officer in Charge and Medical Director of the Pediatric Clinic at Joint Base Charleston, South Carolina. After 11 years of clinical service, Col Jones returned to USU in 2021 to complete her Master of Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in Global Health. In 2022, Col Jones was appointed Chief of Africa Global Health Engagements for the largest International Health Specialist team in the Air Force, within the U.S. Air Forces in Europe – U.S. Air Forces Africa (USAFE-AFAFRICA) Office of the Command Surgeon at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. In this role, Col Jones provided oversight and leadership in the execution of health security cooperation missions for the combatant command, managing a dynamic portfolio of health programs and collaborating with U.S. government agencies and partner nations. Col Jones has conducted more than 20 diverse global health engagements across the African continent, developing extensive cultural and diplomatic expertise through years of experience in the field.
