Biography

Christin B DeStefano, MD, practices hematology and oncology at David Grant USAF Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, California. She received her medical degree from the Uniformed Services University and completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Keesler Medical Center in Biloxi, MS, and fellowship in hematology and oncology at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital-Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. Her research interests include leukemia, lymphoma, and cancer epidemiology as it relates to military members and veterans. Dr. DeStefano has authored several peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, spoken at national conferences, serves as a peer-reviewer for research articles and congressionally directed medical research program grants, and serves on multiple national committees including the ABIM Item Writing Task Force for Hematology. She has mentored multiple medical students, residents and fellows and received the Outstanding Key Clinical Faculty Award at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. She is a member of the American Society of Hematology (ASH), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), American College of Physicians (ACP) Air Force chapter, and Association of Northern California Oncologists (ANCO).
