Biography

Dr Staat is currently an associate professor assigned to the Uniformed Services University as Chair in Dept of OB/GYN. He started his Air Force career at the United States Air Force Academy. He obtained his medical degree at University of Louisville. Completed OB/GYN residency at Wright State Univ/Wright Patterson AFB followed by fellowship at University of Colorado. Assignments include Wilford Hall then SAMMC, Landstuhl, and now USUHS. Currently following an academic career path and promoted Colonel. He is dual board certified in OB/GYN and Maternal Fetal Medicine. He served as the Air Force Surgeon General Consultant for Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Current champion of DHA hemorrhage initiative and simulation roll out. He has served on multiple ACOG and SMFM National committees and is currently the ACOG AFD Chair.
