Biography

Maj Matthew Hawks is a United States Air Force Family Physician. He is a Brigham Young University and Uniformed Services University (USU) graduate with residency training completed at Mike O'callagahn Military Medical Center, Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. He completed a Faculty Development Fellowship through the University of California San Francisco and will complete a Master of Health Professions Education degree in the summer of 2022. He has previously served as a core residency faculty member and the Chief of Medical Operations for an operational unit while deployed in the Middle East. He currently serves as the Family Medicine Clerkship Director and teaches throughout the pre-clinical and clinical curriculum at USU. He serves in several committee leadership roles throughout the university and is an active leader in the uniformed services chapter of the American Academy of Family Physicians. His research interests include clinical reasoning, teaching and education, integrative medicine, and medicine.
