Education

Dr. Chesney completed her undergraduate training at Duke University, received her medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences - F. Edward Hébert School of Medicine, and completed pediatric residency training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. She is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in both General and Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics.

Biography

Dr. Ursula Chesney is a Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician who joined the Womack Army Medical Center team in 1993. Dr. Chesney served seven years as an active-duty military officer at Womack and then continued with the team as a civilian following honorable discharge from the Army at the rank of Major. She served as Chief of Pediatrics from 1998 – 2000, and again from 2010 – 2011. She was inducted into the Order of Military Medical Merit in 2011.

Additionally, Dr. Chesney has been the Medical Director for Fort Liberty’s Medical Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) since 2012.
