Biography

Dr. Okech joined the Department of Preventive Medicine and Biostatistics at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) in June of 2020. He is an Associate Professor and also serves as the Associate Director for the Master of Public Health program. Prior to joining USUHS, Dr. Okech was a Research Associate Professor of Environmental and Global Health in the College of Public Health and Health Professions and in the Emerging Pathogens Institute at the University of Florida in Gainesville, where he served in the faculty for more than 12 years. His research focuses on host (arthropod & vertebrate) and environmental factors to better understand the epidemiology of vector borne disease transmission, particularly in high burden countries.
