Biography

Dr. Adam Barelski grew up in upstate NY before attending Boston College for undergraduate studies. At BC, he studied political science and pre-med, before attending Tufts University School of Medicine as part of the Army Health Professions Scholarship Program. He completed internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center before serving as a chief resident. Dr. Barelski remained on staff as a general internist at WRNMMC, serving as a member of the core faculty and clinical competency committee chair for the residency program. He is an active educator within the residency program with interests in clinical decision making, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice. He is currently serving as an Associate Program Director for the Medicine Residency and clinical competency committee chair. Dr. Barelski is board certified in internal medicine and is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He has training in combat casualty care, medical management of biological and chemical casualties, and completed the Stanford Faculty Development Program. He has served as a battalion surgeon with the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division out of Ft. Stewart, GA in support of two NTC rotations and an operational rotation in South Korea.
