Biography

I was born and raised primarily in North Carolina where I attended undergraduate at Appalachian State University earning a degree in exercise science, as well as a military commission through the ROTC program. While I was in ROTC I was accepted into a medical education delay entry program and pursued my medical education at Campbell University school of Osteopathic Medicine prior to becoming an active duty medical officer. My medical clerkships were primarily located in Lumberton, NC at Southeastern Region Medical Center and in Fayetteville, NC at Womack Medical Center.

My pediatric training has consisted of a Pediatric Residency at Madigan Amy Medical Center (MAMC), rotations at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital and Seattle Children’s Hospital. My military training has consisted of the combat casualty care course (C4), Madigan AHS CAPSTONE exercise, AMEDD BOLC. While at MAMC I organized and lead multiple mock code events to maintain and develop team skills. I was also part of the comprehensive system analysis (CSA) team which conducted root cause analysis on adverse patient events. My medical interest includes improving efficiency within the clinical and hospital settings as well as optimizing care in a low/limited resource setting.
