Biography

Brian V. Reamy, M.D., is the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor of Family Medicine and Medicine at the F. Edward Hébert School of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland. In this role he provides direct oversight over the medical education program, medical student affairs, and all faculty affairs for the School of Medicine’s 684 students and 5,000 national faculty. He is a retired Colonel from the United States Air Force Medical Corp and the past-chair of the Department of Family Medicine at USU from 2001-2009. Dr. Reamy earned his medical degree from Georgetown University Medical School and graduated AOA. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at David Grant Medical Center, Travis AFB, California and served as Chief Resident of that program. He also completed a Fellowship in Academic Medicine & Faculty Development at the University of California, San Francisco.
During his USAF career, Dr. Reamy served in many roles: as Chief of Family Practice at Eielson AFB, Alaska located 70 mi from the Arctic Circle and as faculty and subsequently Residency Director of two Air Force Residency Programs at Travis AFB, CA and Andrews AFB, Maryland. Dr. Reamy has an extensive record of research, publications and speaking in Faculty Development, Medical Education, and the Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease through the control of hyperlipidemia.
Dr. Reamy is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). He has served on the Board of Directors of the Uniformed Services Academy of Family Physicians (USAFP). He has also served as the Vice President and President of that organization. Dr. Reamy also spent two years as a Delegate to the AAFP, the policy making body for the nation’s largest specialty organization.
