Biography

Dr. Schulz is an avid proponent of medical research and evidence-based medicine practices. Her own academic pursuits focus on decreasing antiangiogenic factors that may contribute to vascular pregnancy complications, identifying the role of technology in large clinical trials, and advancing gender equity within military medicine.

Upon the completion of her fellowship, Lt Col Schulz transitioned to Kadena Air Base and Naval Hospital Okinawa (Jul 2017 - Jul 2020) as one of the four Air Force Neonatologists stationed in PACAF, during which time she served as Outreach Director and WESTPAC Neonatal Transport Director. From 2020-2024, she served as a Neonatologist at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and, ultimately, as the Program Director for the Department of Defense's sole tri-service Neonatal-Perinatal Fellowship training program (National Capital Consortium) while pursuing her Master of Health Professions Education through the Uniformed Services University.
