Biography

Lt Col Eric M. Sherman is the Commander, 42d Medical Operations Squadron, 42d Medical Group, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama. As Commander, he is responsible for providing comprehensive healthcare for over 39,000 beneficiaries, inclusive of 16,000 enrolled beneficiaries in the Maxwell-Gunter community. His command authority spans across four flights and a staff of more than 110 personnel. He manages an annual operating budget of $321,000, a $540,000 medical equipment account and 4 patient-centered medical home teams. He also performs extensive planning in support of wartime and peacetime contingencies and deploys medical assets worldwide.
Lt Col Sherman is a 1997 graduate of the University of Virginia and obtained his medical degree from the University of Virginia. Lt Col Sherman is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology, is a Certified Physician Executive and has a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and a Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies from Air University.
