Biography

Born in Florida and mainly raised in rural Tennessee where my immediate family continues to live. I went to college at East Tennessee State University and obtained a Bachelor in Science in Health Science with a concentration in Human Health in 2014. My family has military members in each generation which prompted me to apply for the Health Professional Scholarship Program and was awarded the scholarship through the army. I attended Lincoln Memorial University Debusk College of Medicine where I obtained my Doctor of Osteopathy degree in 2018. It became very clear through my clinical rotations that I had a calling for pediatric medicine. I was accepted into Madigan Army Medical Center's Pediatric residency class of 2021 where I found I wanted to practice the full scope of pediatrics to include general pediatric clinic, newborn nursery and inpatient pediatrics. My first duty assignment was at Fort Bliss Texas where I was a MAP physician with William Beaumont Army Medical Center and attached to 4-6 Infantry Battalion, 3rd Brigade, 1st Armored Division in 2021. With my unit I have attended a non-combat deployment to Korea in 2021 and also attended the National Training Center Exercise in 2023. My time at William Beaumont Army Medical Center has been filled with two process improvement projects, becoming chief of Mendoza pediatrics with a empanel of nearly 11,000 pediatric patients, and the pediatric rotation coordinator for the phase 2 physician associate students.
