Biography

Colonel Jeff Limjuco was born and raised in Willowbrook, Illinois, a western suburb of Chicago. He graduated from Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois, where he received his Bachelor of Science in 1997. Prior to matriculating medical school, COL Limjuco was a laboratory technician doing scientific research at the University of Chicago Sleep Research Laboratory. COL Limjuco was then commissioned through the Uniformed Services University (USU), Bethesda, Maryland, where he obtained his Medical Degree in 2004, and subsequently completed his Pediatric internship and residency program at Madigan Army Medical Center, Fort Lewis, Washington, in 2007.

In 2007, COL Limjuco was assigned as the Chief of Pediatrics at Ireland Army Community Hospital, Fort Knox, Kentucky. During his five year assignment there, he was PROFIS deployed twice. As a Squadron Surgeon, he deployed to Iraq for 13 months in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) with the 7th Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division. As a General Medical Officer / Field Surgeon, he deployed to Afghanistan for 6 months in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) with 556th Area Support Medical Company, 61st Multifunctional Medical Battalion, 1st Medical Brigade.

In 2012, COL Limjuco was assigned to US Army Health Center – Vicenza, Italy, where he was the Chief of Pediatrics, and later served as the Chief of the Primary Care Clinic / Patient Centered Medical Home. In 2015, he was extended to serve an additional 3 years in Vicenza as the Deputy Commander of Clinical Services.
From 2018 to 2020, COL Limjuco returned to USU as a graduate student, completing a graduate fellowship within the DHA National Capital Region Medical Directorate, and obtaining his Masters of Health Administration and Policy. He was subsequently selected as the Director for Healthcare Operations at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC), assuming this role in July 2020.

COL Limjuco’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with 1 Oak Leave Cluster (OLC), Army Commendation Medal with 2 OLC, Iraq Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Combat Action Badge and Purple Heart.

COL Limjuco is a board certified Pediatrician, a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics for which he serves on the Executive Committee of the Section on Uniformed Services, a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, and a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics at USU. He remains clinically active within the WRNMMC Pediatrics Clinic, obtained the 9A proficiency designator for the Army Medical Corps, served as the General Pediatrics Deputy Consultant to the Army Surgeon General from 2019-2022, and was selected as a member of the Order of Military Medical Merit.
