Biography

CDR Moore grew up in Pensacola, Florida and attended Florida State University (BS, 2004). He was commissioned as an Ensign in the Naval Reserves in 2005 and attended the Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine (DO, 2008) on a Health Professions Scholarship. He was commissioned as an active duty Lieutenant in 2008 and completed his Family Medicine Internship at Naval Hospital Pensacola in 2009.

He then reported to the Naval Aerospace Medicine Institute for flight surgery training. After completion of training and receiving his wings of gold in 2010 he served as Department Head of Medicine and Safety at the Naval Aviation Schools Command. While in Pensacola, CDR Moore was selected as a finalist for the Naval Flight Demonstration Squadron (Blue Angels). In 2013, he reported to Naval Hospital Sigonella, Italy as the Senior Medical Officer of the Flight Line Clinic and the Department Head of Aviation Medicine and Physical Exams. As the senior European theatre flight surgeon, he supervised junior flight surgeons, cared for forward-deployed forces, station aircraft squadron personnel, and the executive transport detachment, while accumulating over 450 total flight hours.

CDR Moore competitively selected for anesthesia residency in 2016 at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth. He provided over 7500 hours of routine and emergent anesthetic care to the Tidewater enhanced Multi-Service Market. During the final year of residency, he was Navy Medicine’s only anesthesiologist selected for an in-service interventional pain medicine fellowship. As a fellow, he mastered his advanced procedural techniques and personally performed over 750 procedures.

Upon fellowship graduation, he immediately deployed on an expeditionary Role II Light Maneuver surgical team, providing damage control and resuscitative surgery capability to the AOR. The team was embarked on the USS HERSHEL “WOODY” WILLIAMS (ESB-4) as she circumnavigated Africa and the Mediterranean Sea providing austere forward-deployed role II capability in the joint operational theatre.

CDR Moore currently serves as a staff anesthesiologist on the USNS COMFORT (T-AH 20) augmented to Naval Medical Readiness Training Command Portsmouth where he also serves as a pain interventionalist. He holds an academic appointment as an Assistant Professor of Anesthesia at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Science for his role in teaching residents and students. His military decorations include two Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals and various service medals. CDR Moore is married to his wife, Kristen, and they have two children, Madeline and Samuel.
