Biography

Maj Joseph P. Bowens is a Staff Pediatrician, Medical Director of Immunizations, and Deputy Chief of Medical Staff, 377th Healthcare Operations Squadron, Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico. She is responsible for primary healthcare services for pediatric beneficiaries enrolled to the 377th Medical Group as well as the immunization programs. She is an integral leader in the expertise of pediatric medicine and passionate about pediatric health and medical provider health.

Maj Cline began her career as commissioned officer in June 2010. Prior to that, she attended California Baptist University where she earned a dual undergraduate degree in biology and health sciences finishing number one in her graduating class. She attended Commissioned Officer Training in May 2010 before starting medical school that fall at Midwestern University Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. In 2014, she graduated with her Doctorate in Osteopathic Medicine and began her pediatric medical residency at San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium graduating in June 2017. She was selected as Chief of Residents in 2017 guiding and leading other pediatric residents until her assignment to Kirtland, AFB in 2018 as a Staff Pediatrician.

Maj Cline earned her American Academy of Pediatrics Board certifications in Pediatric Medicine, as well as Aeroallergy Extender Credentials and general medical officer credentials to lead the COVID19 Screening Surge at Kirtland, AFB. Her clinical foundations include a passion for teaching to include time spent as a Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Neonatal S.T.A.B.L.E, pediatric residency didactic director, and Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences Assistant Professor in addition to pediatric clinic preceptor and EMT Pediatric course instructor.
