Biography

LTC Joshua S. Will is currently the Program Director of the Martin Army Community Hospital Family Medicine Residency, Fort Benning, Georgia.

LTC Will began his military career after graduating from Davidson College in Davidson, NC in 1998. He was awarded a Health Professions Scholarship (HPSP) prior to attending Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences College of Osteopathic Medicine. Following the first year of medical school he completed the AMEDD Officer’s Basic Course at Ft. Sam Houston, TX. After completion of medical school he completed his Family Medicine Residency training at Martin Army Community Hospital, Fort Benning, GA from 2003-2006, and a High Risk OB fellowship at Swedish Hospital in Seattle WA in 2010-2011. He has deployed during Operation Iraqi Freedom with the 2nd Infantry Division as the 3-61 Calvary Squadron Surgeon in 2006-2007. He most recently deployed from 2013-2014 with the 1ST CAV Division as the 15th BSB Battalion Surgeon to Afghanistan.

His previous duty assignments include: Chief, Department of Women’s Health and Newborn Care BMACH, 15th BSB Battalion Surgeon, A Team Leader/ Assistant Program Director FMR BMACH, Family Medicine Residency Faculty at MACH, OB Fellow Swedish Hospital Seattle WA, Family Medicine Clinic OIC Ft Carson, CO, 3-61 CAV Squadron Surgeon Ft Carson, CO, Staff Family Physician Ft Carson, CO and Chief Resident (BMACH).

LTC Will’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Meritorious Service Medal with one oak leaf cluster , Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal (2 Bronze Campaign Stars), Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Award, Army Superior Unit Award, and the Combat Medic Badge.

LTC Will is a board certified Family Medicine Physician by both the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. He has completed a High Risk OB fellowship and has published and/or presented on numerous military, leadership, practice management and medical topics. He is an assistant professor of Family Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD, and clinical faculty at Mercer Medical School in Macon, GA, Tulane College of Medicine in New Orleans, LA, and the Georgia campus for the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
