Biography

Dr. Thompson is a research scientist with The Metis Foundation in the Military Cardiovascular Outcomes Research (MiCOR) Program and a research assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at USUHS. Her research focuses on understanding and improving body image and disordered eating behaviors during critical reproductive periods (e.g., the perinatal period).

Building Resources for Improving Disinhibited Eating in Expecting Mothers

Dr. Thompson is the Principal Investigator for a new NIH-funded study (1K23HD118249-01 ) looking to design and test a new treatment for loss of control over eating (binge eating) during pregnancy. Phase 1 of the project is currently recruiting a national sample of women who are currently or were recently pregnant who experienced loss of control over eating (binge eating) during pregnancy.
