Biography

Lieutenant Colonel Kathryn T. Gattone currently serves as the Chief of Medical Staff at the 87th Medical Group, Joint
Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey. She is the principal advisor to the Medical Group Commander concerning matters of
provider standards, quality and scope of medical care, utilization of professional resources, and medical policy and planning.
She is responsible for ensuring all privileged providers deliver quality professional services to an empaneled population of
15,000 patients. She also provides executive oversight to the Patient Safety program, directing initiatives to improve the safety
and quality of patient care. In addition, she is also a developmental pediatrician and provides care for children with special
needs such as Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Lieutenant Colonel Gattone was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She received her USAF commission in 2007 upon
graduation from Rhodes College, Memphis, TN. She attended medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical
Sciences as a Health Professions Scholarship Program student for the Air Force. She is a Board Certified General Pediatrician
and Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrician. She served as the Regional Director in continental Europe for the Developmental
Behavioral Family Readiness Center located in Ramstein AB, Germany. She is married to a retired Air Force pilot and has 3
children. Her background includes joint tours with the Navy and Army; and a humanitarian mission to Ecuador. She has
pediatric medical experience of 15+ years.
