Biography

LCDR Coughlin comes from a proud Navy family. She received a congressional appointment to the United States Naval Academy, graduating in the top ten percent. She then enjoyed four years in the nation's capital during medical school. Following a Transitional Year Internship in Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD) , she served as Senior Medical Officer aboard aboard the USS John P. Murtha (LPD 26), and deployed with the BOXARG. She had the opportunity to participate in Theater Security Cooperation missions and NASA Orion Underway Recovery Mission. She then completed Neurology residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, and is now stationed back at NMCSD where she serves as a staff neurologist. Her interests include headache neurology as well as physician wellness.
