Biography

Lt Col Matthew Snyder, DO is currently the Program Director at Nellis Family Medicine Residency, Nellis AFB, Las Vegas, Nevada. Dr. Snyder earned his B.S. in Pre-med from Bob Jones University, Greenville, SC in 1997 and his M.S. in Anatomy from Pennsylvania State University in 2001. He was commissioned in the Air Force Medical Corps in 2001, completing his medical school training at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2005, and his Family Medicine residency training and board certification at Eglin Family Medicine Residency, Eglin AFB, Florida in 2008. After completing an Obstetrics Fellowship at Swedish Family Medicine in Seattle, WA, he served as a full-time
faculty member, Obstetrics Director, Flight Commander and Assistant Program Director of the new Nellis Family Medicine Residency in 2009. In 2014, he became Military Program Director at the Saint Louis University Family Medicine Residency at Scott AFB, IL. In the spring of 2017, he assumed the role of Program Director at Nellis Family Medicine Residency.

During his time in service, he has been deployed to Bagram, Afghanistan providing care to service members and local nationals in the outpatient, inpatient and ICU settings. He has also served international communities in three different countries and taught pre-medical and medical students in the across the U.S. and abroad. Dr. Snyder currently holds academic appointments as an Assistant Clinical Professor with the Saint Louis University School of Medicine and as an Associate Clinical Professor with USUHS.
