Biography

Colonel Flores attended St. Mary's University in San Antonio Tx on ROTC Scholarship. She was a 1990 Army ROTC Distinguished Graduate and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. She completed a Master in Life Sciences at Texas A&M. As a Health Professions Scholarship recipient she received her Doctor of Medicine degree at Baylor Medical School in Houston, Texas. A board-certified Pediatrician, Colonel Flores completed a Pediatric Residency at Madigan Army Medical Center, Fort Lewis, Washington and was named the outstanding resident at Madigan Army in 2000. She served as Chief of Pediatrics at William Beaumont Army Hospital, Heidelberg Military Medical Activity, and Hickam Air Force Base. She was Chief of Medical Staff at Hickam Air Force Base prior to completing a fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the National Naval Medical Consortium in Bethesda, MD in 2017. She is currently the director for the Defense Institute of Medical Operations and leads the organization in accomplishing National Defense Strategy lines of effort for security cooperation. She is responsible for global health education and training for partner nations. She has oversight for 40+ mobile trainings and 4 in-resident courses taught to international students each year. She is also currently the Director for DIMO’s HIV Policy and Planning course. Col Flores has a strong interest in global health and continues to travel internationally ensuring that military partners across the globe are developing much needed capabilities in line with security cooperation efforts.
