Biography

Maj Patrick Dideum is the Chief of Preventive Medicine at the Defense Health Headquarters in Falls Church, VA. In this role, he provides preventive medicine guidance to the Air Force Surgeon General on population health, operational readiness, and public heath for over 320K+ Airmen and Guardians and 400K+ family members. Main areas of responsibility include development and synchronization of force health protection and immunization policies across the DoD.

Maj Dideum was commissioned into the Air Force in 2011 through the Health Professions Scholarship Program and holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. After entering active duty in 2015, he completed residency training in Pediatrics at San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium where he remained for an additional year to serve as Chief of Residents for the Pediatric residency. Following training, he was assigned to Ramstein AB, Germany as a general pediatrician. During this assignment, he assisted the 86th medical group with their COVID response. He served as part of the First Response Team during Operation Allies Refugee and Operation Allies Welcome and assisted in triage and treatment efforts.

In 2022, he entered Preventive Medicine residency at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He successfully completed his MPH earning Delta Omega honors and completed the Public Health Informatics certificate. During this residency, he consulted on many projects including the development of USPSTF recommendations, scoping and implementation of remote patient monitoring programs at Boston Children's Hospital, development of medical policy for remote patient monitoring for Johns Hopkins Health Plans, creation of an integration plan for data collected from community asthma and lead programs into a statewide health information exchange, and studying effects of ventilation improvements within correctional facilities as co-lead of a CDC/Maryland Department of Health team.
