Biography

Sandra Harris has been in pediatric healthcare since 1997, first working as a Certified Nursing Assistant. in the NICU in Austin, Texas. She graduated with her BSN in December of 2002 and spent the first 5 years of her nursing career working in postpartum and high-risk antepartum care. After getting the itch to return to school, she graduated in 2009 from UT Austin with her MSN specializing in Pediatric Primary Care. Covid provided many challenges in the primary care setting, particularly in child mental health. Sandra chose to get her Pediatric Mental Health Specialist certificate in 2022 and is now taking it one step further, getting her Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner certification from Maryville University in St. Louis, IL. All that being said, she believes when you work in medicine you are a lifelong learner, and she loves sharing her knowledge base with anyone who cares to learn!
