Biography

Lieutenant Commander Scott Toney is originally from Marietta, GA. He graduated from James Madison University (Harrisonburg, VA) in 2008. He was accepted into the Health Professions Scholarship Program and completed medical school at the Medical College of Virginia (Richmond, VA) in 2015.

He completed internship in Pediatrics at Naval Medical Center, San Diego CA. Subsequently, he was accepted into the Flight Surgeon training program at the Naval Aerospace Medical Institute (Pensacola, FL).

He served as a Flight Surgeon with Marine Operational Test and Evaluation Squadron One (VMX-1) in Yuma, AZ from 2017-2019. During this tour, he also served as the Search and Rescue Medical Director.

After completing his Flight Surgeon tour, he returned to Naval Medical Readiness and Training Center San Diego to complete his Pediatric residency. He is currently stationed at Naval Medical Readiness and Training Command Yokosuka, JPN as a staff Pediatrician.

His personal decorations include the Navy Commendation Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal, and various other service awards.

Lieutenant Commander Toney is married to his wife Katie Toney and has three sons, Beckett, Jude, and Cole.
