Biography

COL (Dr) Timothy Vedder is a neonatologist in St Cloud, Minnesota. He entered military service as an ambulance platoon leader in the Army Reserve. After residency at Tripler Army Medical Center, he served as a brigade surgeon in Germany and as the SACEUR flight surgeon at SHAPE Belgium before returning to Hawaii for fellowship. He is a veteran of three combat deployments, during which he served as the theater consultant for pediatrics and the theater consultant for aviation medicine. Upon leaving active duty, he joined the Minnesota National Guard as a flight surgeon. He is now an attending neontologist at St Cloud Hospital and the past-chair of the Hospital ethics committee. COL Vedder’s current military assignment is with the US Army Reserve as a USU Assistant Professor of Pediatrics. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Society of Bioethics and Humanities, the Minnesota Medical Association, the Newborn Brain Society, the Society of US Army Flight Surgeons, the Special Operations Medical Association, and the Society for Science-Based Medicine. When not in uniform or in the NICU, he enjoys music, acting, running, cycling, cooking, traveling, and gardening.
