Biography
Child of military family, Father was in Air Force. Able to travel to many locations, typically every 3 years. Colorado Springs, Cocoa Beach, FL, Aviano, Italy, Pope Air Force Base in NC, Fairbanks, AlaskaAttended NC State University in Raleigh, NC and graduated in 1993 with BS in Zoology
1993 - 1994 Breast cancer research in Rockville, MD prior to entering medical school
and Art instructor at Fayetteville State University the summer prior to entering med school
Attended UNC Chapel Hill in Chapel Hill, NC and graduated in 1998, Medical degree
Pediatric internship and residency at Children's Hospital in Dallas, TX
Obtained Board of pediatrics certification in 2001
Active in private practice in McKinney, Tx for 4 years after completing residency
Moved to Kingwood, TX , practiced outpatient pediatrics and hospitalist before
relocating to Portsmouth, VA in 2007
Hired as first civilian general pediatrician at Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, VA
Currently at NMCP serving our military families as a general pediatrician and newbornist
Actively teaching medical students and residents since 2007
