Biography

MAJ Gina L.Griffith, PhD is a microbiologist and active-duty Army officer serving as Deputy Director and Lead for Scientific Operations of the Translational Medicine Unit (TMU) and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. At the TMU, she leads scientific operations across the unit's laboratory and early-phase clinical research portfolio, directing translational assay development, biorepository governance, and immunology and biomarker strategy. Her research bridges microbiology and pharmacology, spanning antibody pharmacokinetics and trauma pharmacology for combat casualty care. She graduated from the joint Walter Reed Army Institute of Research / Uniformed Services University Clinical Pharmacology Fellowship in the summer of 2026 and has previously served as Assistant Chief of Clinical Immunology and Chief of Research Program Management in the U.S. Military HIV Research Program, Command Microbiologist at the 20th CBRNE Command, and Deputy Director of Sensory Trauma at the U.S. Army Institute of Surgical Research.
